Parking metre scam

Please be aware of the parking metre scam in the Southfields area. There has been a rise in this offense where the perpetrator pretends to be without a bank card and says that they will pay cash if you pay for parking for them.

They also may say that they are have lived overseas and do not have a bank card. They will often use shock tactics such as you cannot park there otherwise you will get a ticket. This is when they pretend to be an attendant helping with parking, in this way they will obtain use of the persons bank card by telling them that they need to pay for parking.

Moreover, they can say that you will get a fine if you park in a certain place. In this way they are again are able to get the owners bank card by distraction and thus taking money from it.
